5 Things Inspiring Me: November 2024
Starting my youtube journey, upcoming creative gatherings, and holiday giveaway!
Santa Monica, 11/16/24
Happy Thanksgiving and Small Business Saturday! It’s wild to think the year is almost over… 😳
With the days short and the weather turning cold in LA, I’m finally starting to accept that it’s winter over here. Lots to look forward to, like steamy hot pot and holiday shopping (my online store is open until 12/12 btw)!
Hope you find ways to slow down and recharge this holiday season. 🎄
🙌 CHEERFUL NEWS
Just a few hours left to enter the Making Waves Giveaway! 🌊 I partnered with 5 women-owned, AAPI-founded, socal based businesses to create the ultimate beach-inspired giveaway. All you need to do is enter your email address to participate!
LA Creatives Holiday Gathering 🎄 I’m hosting a creative meetup on Fri 12/13 from 10AM-12PM in ktown to celebrate the end of the year with fellow freelancers, artists, and small business owners. If you’re local, rsvp here and hang out with us!
Holiday Gift Guide 🎁 It’s been a while since I published a gift guide - and this time I went all out! I gathered 40+ items that are my top pics for my fellow creatives, athletes, and foodies.
📹 FROM THE TUBE
I did it - I started my youtube channel!!! I’ve been thinking about joining youtube for years but imposter syndrome kept getting in my way… But I FINALLY did it this year and posted my first video on my birthday. 🎂 Still learning the ins and outs of long-form content, but if you have any tips send them my way!
This is 32. 🎂 I created a vlog capturing my birthday celebration - everything from driving around LA collecting birthday freebies, hosting a pickleball birthday tournament, and publishing my first video!
Reflections from My First Adobe MAX [Coming Soon] 👀 Attending Adobe MAX was a major highlight this year - next week I’ll be sharing a video of me creating a photo collage from the event with the film photos I took while reflecting on the top things Adobe did well to make this such a successful event.

✨ 5 THINGS INSPIRING ME
1. ARTIST: Daniella ManiniDaniella is a Peruvian graphic artist and textile designer and she creates colorful, collage-like artwork inspired by surf spots all around California. I just bought myself her San O print from her shop and can’t wait to hang it up in my office. Check out her work here. |
2. MUSIC: MadkeysMadkeys is a producer and music-instrumentalist from St. Louis that produces unique sounds combining jazz, hip-hop, soul & electronic. I discovered him on IG years ago and have enjoyed watching him come up with creative ways to share his ideas, behind the scenes, and sponsored content. Check out his music here. |
3. PODCAST: Shopify’s Growth Strategy on Lenny’s PodAs a user/fan of shopify, I enjoyed hearing from the Head of Product about their strategy for acquiring & maintaining users - taking the long view. They treat their experiments as multi-year phases and don’t rely on metrics for goal setting. Great reminder for creatives and small biz owners! Check out the interview here. |
4. SMALL BIZ: VacanceVacance is a asian-inspired cuticle oil company started by my friend Jo, after leaving the advertising industry and combining her interests in chemistry, beauty, and design. It’s been so inspiring seeing her business evolve from concept to launch and I’m awe with the attention to detail she’s put into this brand. Check out her shop here. |
5. VIDEOS: Nicole BautistaNicole creates cozy videos covering topics like books and self-care, and she is one of the reasons why I finally mustered up the courage to start my youtube channel. She’s a long-time friend who’s crushing it with content creation while managing a day job as an occupational therapist. Check out her videos here. |
Thanks for reading! If you'd like to support my art practice further you can... Have a great day and take it easy. ✌️ |
