5 Things Inspiring Me: September 2025
Taking breaks, dream collabs, and new home update.

Malibu, 9/1/25
Hellooo friends! 👋 It’s been a minute.
This year sort of flew by.. Like how is it almost October already?!
Earlier this year I stepped away from my creative projects to take a real break. After transitioning from being a full-time creative to a corporate girlie again last yer, I found myself going full-speed into my next chapter. And to be honest I took on way more than I could handle. 😅
Anyways, life’s been good and I celebrated a lot of milestones while I was away. My sister got engaged, I did a triathlon in Yosemite, and the biggest news… Wes and I bought our first home! 🏡
Becoming first-time home owners has been a huge (and fun) transition for us but we’re super excited and can’t wait to make it all cozy and full of life. If you got any tips or must-buy items send them my way! 🙏
Anyways, now that I’m starting to settle into this new space I figured it would be a good time to put my creative hat on again. As always, thanks for being here and hope you’re having a great start to fall! 🍂
🙌 CHEERFUL NEWS
My HOWL-oween collection with Coco Moon is out! 🐶🎃 This was a dream project with my favorite Hawai’i-based women-owned children’s clothing brand, Coco Moon Hawai’i. They make clothes out of the softest fabric and I had so much fun drawing my friend’s pups dressed up in cute little costumes. Check out their store and purchase a onesie or dog bandana for your friends and fam!
I’m heading to Adobe Max again next month! 🎨📸 I’m excited to reunite with my fellow creatives again, this time in my city Los Angeles. Let me know if you’re going too 😊
✨ 5 THINGS INSPIRING ME
1. ARTIST/CREATOR: Jodi GoJodi is a creator based in Seattle and shares inspiring videos of interior design and home decor tips. He’s carefully designed his condo to bring a lot of warmth, function, and playfulness. I’ve been enjoying watching his videos as I’m settling into my new home. Check out his work here. | ![]() |
2. BOOK: Six of Crows by Leigh BardugoI’m already 4 books into the Grisha universe (a.k.a. Grishaverse), after receiving my first book of the duology from my friend Nicole. It’s a series of fantasy novels full of magic, taking place in a world inspired by Dutch Republic–era Amsterdam. Check out the book here. | ![]() |
3. PODCAST: Jessica Williams on The Sam Sanders ShowI’m a huge fan of Jessica Williams who stars in the Apple TV+ series, Shrinking. I caught wind of this podcast when I saw a clip of her talking about how she was raised in Torrance (my hometown!). They chat about her experience on the show, life in your 20s vs 30s, and other relatable topics. Check out the episode here. | ![]() |
4. SMALL BIZ: Kiriko MadeOn my recent trip to Portland, I stopped by this beautiful Japanese clothing and home goods store. They sell hats, pillows, tapestries, and jackets using timeless sashiko and traditional Japanese fabric. I love how they embrace the value of “mottainai” (i.e. waste nothing and recycle everything) by seamlessly blending new and vintage looks. Check out their shop here. | ![]() |
5. TV: Glass Heart on NetflixIt’s been a while since I watched a Japanese drama, but when my brother recommended this show to me I was hooked. It’s about a young aspiring drummer who gets recruited by a brilliant musician for his new band. The music and cinematography is insane and I encourage anyone who’s passionate about music (especially jpop) to give it a watch. Check out the trailer here. | ![]() |
